Unstolen bike

A wry look over the pleasures
of transport under your own power

the unlocked thing rests there
without an owner

but does not say
Please take me

doesn't invite you to put
your hand through the veneer

That naughty thought is yours
and in that thought you touch

your own struggle
And you can only think how

once you were stolen away
and ridden ruthlessly awry

The war-horses' trifecta

Now that Johnny Howard has come in first in Australia (lucky country!), will the 3 horseman of the Iraqi apocalypse make it a trifecta? Go Bush. Go Blair.

I predict that they will all ride into victory on the basis of booming economies, political ignorance (of the masses) and the general insecurity created by the very war (on 'terror') that they are creating and prosecuting.

Remember where you read it first.

Poetry Man
